back story
it started with the shop on our street.
“beta, can the website also tell people i’m open on sunday?”
01 the shop
there’s a kirana on our street. the uncle who runs it knows every regular by name, keeps the freshest methi around, and opens on sundays. online, he was a blurry maps pin and a whatsapp status only his relatives saw.
02 the page
one weekend we made him a simple page: his photo, a few lines about the shop, what he stocks, his hours, his number. no app, no login, nothing to learn. he taped the link to his counter.
03 the questions
then things got out of hand. people from three streets away walked in holding up their phones like treasure maps. the chemist next door wanted “same thing, but blue.” the pickle aunty sent a four-minute voice note that boiled down to “me also.” we kept saying yes.
04 the pattern
every owner wanted the same thing: a proper page that says who they are, looks good on a phone, and doesn’t need a nephew to update it. so we stopped making pages one by one and built storeease — any shop, online in 48 hours.
